About Us
HALO Aerotech is an Adelaide based startup developing a new class of drone propulsion capability to move heavy payloads through complex environments. We're developing a proprietary jet-based propulsion system and aerial platform architecture for heavy-lift vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) applications in dense, complex and contested environments.Micro-jet engines offer exceptional thrust-to-weight ratios and fuel flexibility, making them the ideal propulsion solution for airborne applications. However, conventional micro-jet engines are poorly suited to VTOL and hovering flight due to the excessive noise and efficiency losses associated with their high velocity exhaust. We're focused on addressing these limitations by rethinking how thrust can be generated and optimised for autonomous flight in future environments, delivering high thrust density while overcoming conventional noise and hover efficiency limitations.Our technology is being developed to address real-world challenges across a range of applications, including aerial logistics, Defence resupply, emergency response, disaster relief, medical evacuation, industrial inspection and cargo, and urban aerial mobility.
